Canyon Creek Archaeological Site Tour

Canyon Creek Archaeological Site Tour In-Person

Join Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation archaeologist Patrick Rennie for a special tour of the Canyon Creek Archaeological Site. This unique site exhibits cairn drive lines, hunting blinds, and other stone features that tell an incredible story about past uses of the landscape. Patrick will walk us through the site and share possible interpretations.

Please be prepared for a moderate 2-mile hike over uneven ground with no trail. Wear protective/comfortable footwear, dress for the elements, and bring water.

This tour is limited to 20 participants, and you must register below to attend. We will not be able to take additional people. We will meet outside the North entrance of the Montana Heritage Center at 3:30 p.m. and shuttle in vans out to the site. We will return before dark (approximately 7 to 7:30 p.m.).
